WHAT ARE THE CURRENT PREVENTIVE MEASURES BY THE CURAÇAO GOVERNMENT?

Unfortunately, the number of active COVID-19 cases on the island has significantly increased over the last weeks. As per March 24th, 2021, in an effort to lower the number of infections, the following measures will apply:

  • The evening curfew from 9:00pm until 4:30am has been extended and the government urges the local community and visitors to shelter at home;
  • Supermarkets, pharmacies, and gas stations will remain open. As of May 4, 2021 retail stores are allowed to receive clients again;
  • Restaurant with outside seating possibilities will open again as of May 4, 2021 with limited seating.
  • Restaurants can provide delivery service and curb-side pickup only between noon and 8pm; and food trucks between 4pm and 8pm;
  • Locals and visitors are entitled to drive 2 days per week to take care of essential business only. These two set days are determined by the letter on the license plate;
  • On Sunday no vehicles are allowed, with the exception of public transportation;
  • Locals and visitors are allowed to exercise close to their home or accommodations between 4:30 am and 8:00 am and 4:30 pm and 8:00 pm;
  • For availability and regulations concerning resort facilities including beach access, visitors are requested to contact their accommodation;
  • Excursions and other tourist activities will not be organized;
  • The airport remains open for incoming and outgoing traffic.
